Prime Minister Modi arrived in Kanyakumari after completing the final campaign for the parliamentary elections the day before yesterday. After having darshan of Sami at Bhagwati Amman Temple in the evening, he started meditation at Vivekananda Mandapam and remained in meditation for a total of 11 hours till 5.30 am. During meditation he changed into saffron vest, saffron shirt and saffron towel. He wears sandalwood and kumkum, with thiruneetu band on his forehead. He meditated with the Rudraksha garland in his hand and closed his eyes chanting the Vedic mantras. The sound of Om was constantly resounding in the hall.
Prime Minister Modi came out yesterday at 5.30 am after completing his meditation. At 5.55 saw the sunrise from Vivekananda Mandapam. Then he worshiped the Sun and crawled back into the hall. At that time he sat for some time in Sri Padam Mandapam and Swami Vivekananda Memorial Mandapam and closed his eyes and meditated.
After that, at 7.25 in the morning he went back into the meditation hall and continued the 2nd day of meditation. Even as Prime Minister Modi meditated at the Vivekananda Mandapam, tourists were allowed to go there by boat with strict restrictions. But no one was allowed to enter the meditation hall where Prime Minister Modi was.
The Prime Minister’s security wing officers, commandos, Tamil Nadu police and paramilitary personnel are carrying out security work there. A helicopter of the Indian Navy regularly patrols the Kumari district sea area and carries out surveillance work. Today (Saturday) Prime Minister Modi is going to meditate for the 3rd day. At the end of the afternoon meditation, Prime Minister Modi will go in a private boat to pay his respects to the 133 feet tall Thiruvalluvar statue. After that he returns to Delhi via Thiruvananthapuram.
Due to the fact that Prime Minister Modi is conducting meditation at Vivekananda Mandapam, strong security arrangements have been made in the sea, beach and air. Security forces, commandos, Indian Navy, Indian Coast Guard, Tamil Nadu Coast Guard, Tamil Nadu Police are involved in this security work.
