The Modi government, which is “deeply dissatisfied” with the DMK for calling the central government a “union government”, has resorted to retaliation.
Has started the process of declaring the western part of Tamil Nadu as a separate union territory under the name ‘Kongu Nadu’. In the aftermath of the recent assembly elections in Tamil Nadu, at a time when everyone thought that the political arena was heading towards a recession, the BJP, with successive moves from the top, kept it warm.
The newly-elected Tamil Nadu government, GST, has been following a course of confrontation with the central government as it has set up a committee to study the impact of the opposition, ‘Neet’ selection at the meeting. In the culmination of this, Eeswaran, a Leader of the Kongu Nadu National Party, spoke in the Tamil Nadu Assembly, tarnishing the word ‘Jaihind’, ‘causing great anger to the Central Government’.
Eeswaran, standing on the DMK’s Rising Sun symbol, won the assembly election. When he spoke controversially about Jaihind, none of the DMK leaders, including Chief Minister Stalin, objected.
Moreover, the recent claim by the DMK and its allies to the federal government as a federal government has caused great controversy. Despite strong opposition from parties including the BJP-AIADMK, the DMK continues to use the term “United Government”. The Patriots are also dissatisfied that they are using the term “United State” to incite separatism.
The DMK leader’s actions have angered the central government and the BJP. Have complained about. The federal government is preparing to retaliate, thinking it can no longer be tolerated. As a manifestation of this, the word ‘Kongu Nadu’ has been used in the recent references to Murugan as the Union Minister, according to Central Government sources.
Coimbatore, Tiruppur, Erode, Namakkal, Salem, Dharmapuri, Nilgiris, Karur and Krishnagiri districts are located in the western part of Tamil Nadu. In this zone, there are 10 Lok Sabha constituencies and 61 Assembly constituencies. The Central Government is planning to declare ‘Kongu Nadu’ as a separate Union Territory, similar to Pondicherry, with a total of 90 Assembly constituencies, including some adjoining constituencies.
In the Kongu Nadu, the BJP has a separate vote bank. The DMK had lost the recent assembly elections in the region. With this, the BJP plans to show the game to the DMK in the future. Vanathi Srinivasan, who is already from the Kongu Nadu, has been appointed as the leader of the BJP national women’s team.
Murugan, who hails from the region, was recently appointed Union Minister. Following this, Annamalai from this area has been appointed as the leader of the Tamil Nadu BJP. Through this, efforts have begun to present the BJP as a direct competitor to the DMK in the Kongu Nadu. The appointment of a Deputy Governor is also being considered.
In the run-up to the Lok Sabha elections in 2024, the formation of the Kongu Nadu Union Territory is set to begin. According to political sources, the BJP has taken over the ‘Union Territory’ of Astra, in retaliation for those who hate the Union government and for making their party the strongest party in Tamil Nadu in the future.
