The Tamilaga Vetrikalagam (TAVEK) party, led by actor Vijay, held its first political conference on October 27 in Vikravandi, Villupuram district. For this event, more than 150 banners were placed throughout various locations in Salem district by the local TAVEK administrators to highlight the conference’s importance.
Three days after the conference concluded, many of the banners had not been removed. Members of the DMK filed a complaint at the police station, urging action on the remaining banners. Following this, the police instructed TAVEK organizers to remove the banners, resulting in over 80 banners being taken down.
However, some banners remained in a few locations, and certain TAVEK members refused to remove them. Consequently, the police have registered cases against nine individuals for not complying with the order to remove the banners.
