Tamil Nadu BJP state president Annamalai has strongly criticized the DMK government, claiming a breakdown of law and order in the state. His remarks come in the wake of a shocking incident in Palladam, Tiruppur district, where three members of a family—a mother, father, and son—were murdered in their home.
Annamalai highlighted that a similar incident occurred last year in the same region, where four members of a family were hacked to death in their residence. He pointed out that the inability to take strict action against anti-social elements has emboldened criminals, leading to a situation where murders are being committed fearlessly, even inside homes.
He further accused the DMK government of curbing the police force’s independence by using them primarily to target political opponents and critics instead of focusing on maintaining public safety. According to him, this has left citizens vulnerable and questioning their safety under the current regime.
In conclusion, Annamalai urged the DMK government to take immediate steps to restore law and order and allow the police to function independently to ensure the safety of the public. His remarks are likely to intensify political debates and scrutiny over the state’s governance and law enforcement.
