Governor R.N. Ravi stated that Tamil Nadu is considered the intellectual and spiritual capital of India.
At an event held at IIT Chennai, Governor R.N. Ravi said:
The division that occurred in 1947 has not yet been completely resolved. It is still ongoing, with people creating divisions in their minds through place and language. Many ideologies have supported this division, including the Dravidian ideology.
The Dravidian ideology seeks to divide the country and does not view India as a secular nation. The killing of our fishermen and the sinking of their boats are consequences of the handing over of Kachchatheevu to Sri Lanka.
Previously, the government that ruled India made concessions to neighboring countries that occupied our territory. In 1960, India made concessions to China. Similarly, Kachchatheevu was also conceded, which has led to our fishermen being attacked by foreign forces today.
Tamil Nadu is considered the intellectual and spiritual capital of India. However, reports of social discrimination against Dalits in schools, temples, and village festivals are deeply distressing and highly shameful. Such social discrimination is abhorrent and unacceptable, he said.
