Amit Shah has said that special status will not be brought back to Jammu and Kashmir.
Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir will be held in 3 phases. Accordingly, the first phase election will be held on September 18, the second phase election on September 25, and the third phase election on October 1. The votes will be counted on October 4 and the results will be announced on the same day. As the election approaches, political parties have started campaigning.
In particular, the main parties of Jammu and Kashmir, the People’s Democratic Party and the National Conference Party, have said in their election manifesto that if they win the election, they will bring back the special status law for Jammu and Kashmir.
In this case, Home Minister Amit Shah met the media after a high-level consultation meeting regarding the eradication of Naxalites in Chhattisgarh. He was then questioned about the People’s Democratic Party and National Congress Party’s promise in their election manifesto to bring back Act 370, which grants special status to Kashmir.
Responding to this, Amit Shah said that the special status Act 370 has no place for Jammu and Kashmir now and ever. Special status will not be brought back to Jammu and Kashmir,” he said.
