The police have seized a drug worth 28 crores called Sarus, which was trying to be smuggled from Thoothukudi to Sri Lanka.
While patrolling the coastal area north of Threspuram, the Tuticorin Q Division police arrested three people who were waiting for a boat and interrogated them.
Investigation revealed that they were Tuticorin-based lawyers Amalraj, Nishanthan and Victor. From them, they seized 56 kg of Sarus, a substance made from the resin of the ganja plant. The arrested were handed over to the District Anti-Narcotics Police.
