Prime Minister Modi presented the certificate to the women beneficiaries under the Lakshadhipati Sister Scheme in Jalgaon, Maharashtra.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that 6 thousand crores of financial assistance will be released for the benefit of women across the country under the Lakshadhipati Sister Scheme.
Expressing his hope that lakhs of women will become millionaires through this, Prime Minister Modi expressed his condolences to the people of Jalgaon who died in the Nepalese bus accident.
Recalling his return from Poland, Prime Minister Modi said that the people of that country respect the people of Maharashtra a lot and that there is a Kolhapur memorial in the Polish capital.
Prime Minister Modi mentioned that the Kolhapur royal family had supported many mothers and children from Poland during the Second World War, so a memorial was built there to honor the service and hospitality of the people of Kolhapur.
Prime Minister Modi proudly said that one crore women have become millionaires in the last 10 years due to the central government’s scheme, and especially that 11 lakh women have become millionaires in the last two months alone.
