Two cases of protests against former minister Jayakumar’s arrest have been quashed.
Speaking at the public meeting held in 2022, DMK said that former minister C.V.Shanmugam had spoken slander about Chief Minister M.K.Stalin. The celebrity complained.
Based on this, a case was registered against C.V.Shanmughat under the sections of creating conflict between two groups and disturbing public peace. Similarly, two cases were registered in the Villupuram city police station against C.V.Shanmugam for protesting against the arrest of former minister Jayakumar without permission.
C.V.Shanmugam petitioned the Madras High Court to quash these cases. Yesterday, the Madras High Court quashed the case of defaming the Chief Minister M.K.Stalin.
In this case, two cases were heard in the Chennai High Court today regarding protest against the arrest of former minister Jayakumar. At that time, the judge did not include the correct sections in the case filed on the complaint filed by the VAO. It does not prove that traffic has been obstructed. He said that multiple cases cannot be registered for the same incident and that there are defects in the FIR and ordered the cancellation of the cases against C.V.Shanmughat.
