On the 78th Independence Day celebrations, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that a series of goals have been set for the future to shape the country’s development and innovate to make India a world leader in various fields.
Highlights of Prime Minister’s Speech,
Movement to make life easier: Prime Minister Modi has said that he will implement his visionary policy of ‘making life easier’ as a movement. He also mentioned improving quality of life in urban areas through proper assessments, infrastructure and services.
Revival of Nalanda spirit: The Prime Minister said that the spirit of ancient Nalanda University should be revived and India should be made a global center of education by promoting higher education learning and research. He also said that this includes starting Nalanda University in 2024.
Made-in-India chip-semiconductor manufacturing: Indicating India’s commitment to make India a world leader in semiconductor manufacturing, Prime Minister Modi said it should reduce import dependence and increase technological self-sufficiency.
Skill India: Referring to Budget 2024, the Prime Minister highlighted the historic initiatives announced by the government to provide skill training to the youth of India and make it the skill capital of the world.
Industrial Manufacturing Hub: Unveiling his vision to transform India into the world’s manufacturing hub, Prime Minister Modi also announced plans to leverage its vast resources and skill-trained workforce.
“Design in India, Design for the World”: Appreciating the domestic design prowess, the Prime Minister also urged to produce products for the domestic and international markets.
Leading the global sports market: PM Modi said that India should promote its rich ancient traditions and literature to market sports products made in India. Mentioning that Indian professionals should take the lead in the global sports market, he said that not only in playing but also in developing games, Indian sports should reach the world.
Green Jobs and Green Hydrogen Movement: PM Modi emphasized the importance of green jobs in India’s efforts to tackle climate change. He said that the country is currently focusing on green growth and green employment, which will create job opportunities that can protect the environment. The Prime Minister reiterated India’s commitment to green hydrogen production and environment protection and sustainable employment generation in renewable energy sectors.
Healthy India Movement: To achieve the goal of a developed India by 2047, the Prime Minister said that India should follow the path of ‘Healthy India’ and said that the National Nutrition Movement has been launched for this purpose.
State-level investment competition: The Prime Minister asked the state governments to formulate clear policies to attract investments, guarantee good governance and ensure confidence in the maintenance of law and order.
India’s quality as per global standards: Indicating India’s expectation that India’s commitment to adhere to quality standards would be recognized, Prime Minister Modi said efforts should be made to make India’s quality standards international standards.
Climate Change Targets: The Prime Minister also reaffirmed India’s target of achieving a target of 500 GW of renewable energy generation by 2030.
Expanding Medical Education: Announcing the addition of 75,000 new medical posts over the next five years, Prime Minister Modi said the aim is to expand the country’s medical education capacity and meet the growing demand for healthcare professionals.
Infusing new blood into politics: Prime Minister Modi called for involvement of one lakh youth in politics, especially those from non-political backgrounds. He also said that the purpose of this is to fight the evils of succession and caste and inject new blood into Indian politics.
