The Waqf Board Amendment Bill was tabled in the Lok Sabha yesterday. Opposition parties including the Congress strongly opposed this amendment bill. The opposition parties protesting against this said that a joint committee should be formed to study the bill. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiran Rijiju had said in the Lok Sabha yesterday that a joint committee will be formed as per the request of the opposition parties.
In this situation, a joint committee has been formed to examine the Waqf Board Amendment Bill. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiran Rijiju issued the order after forming a 31-member joint committee.
A joint committee headed by BJP’s Jagathambika Pal has been formed to study the bill. A. Raza, Owaisi, Imran Masood, Tejaswi Surya and others are included in this joint committee. The committee includes MPs from DMK, Congress, BJP and Trinamool Congress.
The joint committee will study the bill and submit its report on the last day of the first week of the next parliamentary session.
