Anbumani Ramadoss said that it is unfair to prosecute everyone, including Armstrong’s 2-year-old daughter.
In a statement released by PMK President Anbumani Ramadoss, it is stated that;
“Police have registered a case against more than 1500 people, including Armstrong’s wife and 2-year-old child, who held a rally in Chennai yesterday to bring out all the hidden facts behind the murder of Bahujan Samaj Party’s Tamil Nadu state president, Armstrong, demanding that the case be transferred to the CBI. Prosecution without giving justice to the protestors is reprehensible.
Bahujan Samaj Party’s Tamil Nadu State President Armstrong was brutally murdered on July 5 in front of his newly built house in Perampur, Chennai. So far 23 people from various walks of life have been arrested in connection with his murder. But who is the mastermind behind the murder? is yet to be discovered. Who sent mercenaries to assassinate Armstrong? to find out that; Real criminals should be arrested and punished; For that CBI Armstrong’s family and various parties including the Bahujan Samaj Party have been insisting that an inquiry should be ordered.
A rally and protest was held yesterday from Egmore to Valluvar Kottam on behalf of Bahujan Samaj Party and Neelam Cultural Centre. However, the Nungambakkam police have registered a case against more than 1500 people, including Armstrong’s wife Borkodi, his 2-year-old daughter Savithiri Bhai, director Ranjith, who participated in the protest demanding that they were not given permission to protest. This action by the police is an unacceptable abuse of power in any way.
Armstrong was the state leader of a National Party when he was murdered. Everyone including his family, BSP, his support organizations have the right to know about the conspiracy behind his murder. It is the responsibility of the Tamil Nadu government and the police to clarify it. The rally held to emphasize that demand was justified. It would be unfair to sue everyone, including Armstrong’s 2-year-old daughter. This shows the mechanized functioning of the police.
There is always room for reasonable voices in a democracy. Tamilnadu government and police should not try to suppress it. The case filed against 1500 people including Armstrong’s wife, child and director Ranjith for holding rally and protest without permission should be withdrawn immediately. The Tamil Nadu government should also come forward to fulfill their demand.” It says so.
