What should India do as a superpower in 2047? In relation to the IMF Deputy Managing Director Geetha Gopinath spoke.
Geeta Gopinath, Deputy Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund and Professor at Harvard University, spoke at the event held at Delhi University. Then he said;-
India is a fast growing economy. The question now is how to sustain this momentum in the long run.
India needs a highly skilled and educated workforce. This is very important to take India towards a high income economy.
India’s growth depends on capital. But the vacancies are very less filled. India needs more investment in human capital and skilled labor.
6 crore to 14.8 crore jobs should be created by 2030 as India becomes a superpower in 2047. The participation of women workers should also be increased. More investments should be made in public infrastructure.
This was said by Geeta Gopinath.
