A gunfight broke out between terrorist groups in Manipur.
Riots broke out in May last year between the Meithi and Kuki ethnic groups in Manipur. Even after a year, incidents of conflict are still going on here and there. Some of these ethnic groups have joined forces and are currently staging armed attacks. The central government has declared the group as terrorists. At the same time, these terrorist groups are occasionally attacking security forces and civilians. Also, clashes between terrorist groups are taking place from time to time.
In this case, there was a clash between terrorist groups in Torbang area of Bishnupur district of the state yesterday. Both sides have engaged in a barrage of fire.
The security forces came to know about the incident and opened fire. No one was injured in the gunfight. Officials said that the terrorist groups involved in the gunfight belonged to the same ethnic group.
