Former MLA’s wife killed in bomb blast at Manipur’s house
A former MLA’s wife was killed in a bomb blast at her house in Manipur’s Kangpokbi district. Yamthong Haqib (64 years old) contested on behalf of the Congress from the Saikul constituency in the last assembly elections held in 2012 and 2017. He was BJP’s candidate in the assembly elections held in 2022. He contested and failed.
His wife is Sapham Charupala (59 years old). He burnt the garbage in the house at around 3 pm yesterday. Then suddenly a bomb exploded in it and he was seriously injured. He was immediately taken to the hospital. But he died without treatment. Yamthong reported the matter to the police this morning. Based on that, the police have registered a case and are investigating.
The police said that there was a dispute between Hokip and his relative regarding the purchase of land earlier and due to this they suspect that they may have hidden the country bomb in the garbage. Hawkip was also at home when the blast occurred, but was not injured.
