Court custody of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has been extended.
The Enforcement Directorate has filed a case against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal under various categories including money laundering, alleging irregularities in the liquor policy of the Delhi government.
In this case, Arvind Kejriwal was arrested by the Enforcement Department on the night of March 21. Arrested Kejriwal has been lodged in Tihar Jail. Meanwhile, the CBI filed a case against Kejriwal alleging corruption in Delhi’s liquor policy. Also, on June 26, the CBI arrested Kejriwal, who was in jail, in a corruption case.
Subsequently, the court granted interim bail to Kejriwal in the Enforcement Directorate case. However, Arvind Kejriwal is in judicial custody in the CBI case. In this case, as Kejriwal’s court custody in the CBI case ended today, he was produced in the Delhi court today through video. Special Judge Kaveri Baweja, who heard the case, extended his court custody till the 20th.
It is to be noted that the court is going to consider the additional chargesheet filed by the CBI against Kejriwal in the liquor policy case on the 12th.
