Central Home Minister Amit Shah has slammed Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi over Minimum Support Price (MSP) and agriculture related issues. Ahead of the Haryana Legislative Assembly elections, he expressed hope that the BJP will win again and form the government for the third time in the campaign held in Rewar.
Amit Shah questioned Rahul Gandhi’s awareness of MSP and criticized Kharif and Rabi crops. He asked, “When talking about farmers, do they know the essential details?” He posed the question directly. This is to emphasize whether the BJP government is responsible for the schemes taken forward by the farmers.
Minimum Support Price (MSP)
MSP is a major scheme to ensure the economic status of farmers. This helps to address the cost of production of the farmers and provide a fair price for the produce. Amit Shah mentioned that the MSP has been raised under the BJP government and this will benefit the farmers.
Kharif and Rabi season crops
These two seasons mainly feature in agriculture in India. Crops like cotton and rice which are grown during the rainy season in Kharif season and crops like wheat and barley which are grown after winter in Rabi season are important. The BJP has promised solutions to farmers’ crop loans and imposed prices.
The promises of the BJP government
Amit Shah has made many promises during the BJP regime regarding financial support for farmers, Ayushman Bharat scheme and expansion of medical aid. Based on:
Farm subsidy: If the BJP returns to power, the subsidy for farmers will be increased from ₹6,000 to ₹10,000.
Ayushman Bharat Scheme: This scheme already helps people up to ₹5 lakh for medical treatment. BJP is thinking of raising this to ₹10 lakh.
Through these questions, Amit Shah emphasized that the BJP government respects farmers and works for their interests.
