Does the DMK government say that it does not matter if the roof collapses and falls on the students’ heads, they will not allow the central government project? BJP state president Annamalai has questioned.
In a statement issued by Annamalai in this regard,
I urge the DMK government to inspect the school buildings all over Tamil Nadu, to check and maintain them, to construct new buildings, and to include all these and to implement the PM Shri scheme to raise the standard of education in Tamil Nadu without delay.
Does the DMK government say that it doesn’t matter if the roof collapses and falls on the students’ heads, they will not give permission to the central government project?
To raise the standard of education in government schools and improve infrastructure including government school buildings. Project brought by our Hon’ble Prime Minister of India Mr. Narendra Modi PM Shr. It has been implemented in states and union territories across the country and has benefited more than 20,000 schools so far. But for their personal political reasons, the DMK government has not yet implemented the PM Sher scheme in Tamil Nadu
When the DMK came to power, they promised to build new buildings for 10,000 dilapidated government schools across Tamil Nadu, three years have passed and the fourth year is going on. So far, the details of how many new buildings have been constructed for the schools are not known and we are also witnessing the tragedy of many new school buildings being opened within months of the roof collapsing.
Every month there is a news of school roof collapse in Tamil Nadu. Many times the roof fell. Students have been injured but even after that, the DMK government does not seem to be taking any steps to inspect the entire school buildings across Tamil Nadu and maintain them or construct new buildings.
Despite the demands of all parties like school students, teachers and parents, their voice did not reach the DMK government. What we can see in the DMK government is the neglect of the government school students who have a simple family background.
In the past few months alone, the roofs of many schools have collapsed and students have suffered. Yesterday on 08/08/2024, 5 female students and one male student were injured in the roof collapse of Sirudaur Government School, Chengalpattu District. As no action has been taken despite complaining about the buildings several times, today the students boycotted the exams and staged a protest.
On 05/07/2024, the roof coating of a government school building built at a cost of Rs.62 lakhs at Kuruvi Hill, Kanchipuram district has shifted within three months. This accident happened because the DMK government ignored the repeated requests of teachers, students and parents to fix it. On 0304/2024, the roof of a school building built at a cost of Rs 17:32 lakh collapsed in six months and 5 students were injured. All the government school buildings are dilapidated and students are in danger but the DMK government is not concerned about this and is only focusing on idolatry and entertainment programs.
What is the reason why the DMK has not implemented any scheme for the benefit of government school students from poor and humble family background and is not implementing the schemes of the central government? In April this year, the Chief Secretary to the Government of Tamil Nadu discussed the MoU for the PM S scheme. After saying that we will implement it this academic year itself, why has it not been implemented yet? What is really the aim of the DMK government? Does the government school act to ensure that quality education and quality infrastructure are not available to students?
It has been four years since DMK came to power. On the one hand, the fact that the election promises were not fulfilled, but the buildings cannot be accepted to have a government school in a condition where the lives of school students are at risk. Immediately inspect, inspect and maintain school buildings across Tamil Nadu. To construct new buildings and take action. PM Shn program which includes all these and raises the standard of education. I urge the DMK government to implement it in Tamil Nadu without delay. Bharatiya Janata Party State President K. Annamalai is also in national service.
