Prime Minister Modi held key consultations on medical oxygen production and stockpiling in India.
Oxygen shortages prevailed in some parts of the country during the second wave of Govt. Subsequently, the Central and State Governments took swift action to produce and import oxygen. This will strengthen primary and district health centers in 736 districts across the country, Health Minister Manzuk Mandvi said.
In this situation, medical experts have warned that the 3rd wave will start soon in India. Following this, Prime Minister Modi held consultations with the High Level Committee on increasing oxygen reserves and production. He also discussed facing the 3rd wave.
Speaking at the meeting, Prime Minister Modi said: Across the country, 1500 oxygen production centers are being set up with BMCars funding. An additional 4 lakh oxygen beds will come into use when it comes into use. Oxygen production centers should be brought into operation as soon as possible. Hospital staff should be trained to maintain and operate oxygen centers. Thus he said.
