At the same time, the National Democratic Alliance led by BJP won 293 seats and got majority. The alliance also started preparations to form a new government.
These alliance parties expressed their support for Prime Minister Modi to take office again as Prime Minister. Also, those parties chose Prime Minister Modi as the leader of the alliance. Following this, a meeting of MPs of National Democratic Alliance parties including BJP was held the day before yesterday. In this, Modi was unanimously elected as the Parliamentary Committee Chairman (Prime Minister) of the alliance.
Later, a delegation of National Democratic Alliance led by Janata Party National President JP Nadda went to the President’s House and met President Drabupati Murmu and handed over the letter electing Modi as the Prime Minister.
They also presented letters signed by MPs supporting PM Modi to the President. Following this, Prime Minister Modi went to the President’s House in the evening and met Drabupati Murmu. He also claimed the right to govern. Accepting this, the President invited Prime Minister Modi to form the government.
In this situation, Narendra Modi was sworn in again as the new Prime Minister of the country in a ceremony held in the President’s House. After Jawaharlal Nehru, President Drabupati Murmu administered the oath of office and secrecy to him as Prime Minister for the 3rd consecutive term. Central ministers also took oath after him. The President also administered an oath of office and an oath of secrecy to them.
Leaders of various neighboring countries and Indian Ocean countries attended the swearing-in ceremony as special guests and congratulated Prime Minister Modi. Ahead of this ceremony, the President’s House and surrounding areas were heavily guarded.
