As Narendra Modi is about to take office as the Prime Minister for the third time, Modi has personally met senior BJP leaders like Advani, Murali Manohar Joshi and others and received greetings.
As the Lok Sabha elections were recently completed, the election results were announced on June 4. Will Narendra Modi sit in the Prime Minister’s chair again this time? Or will the India alliance give a strong contest and take over the government? As the expectations intensified, the BJP-led NDA alliance faced tough competition from the beginning during the counting of votes.
Finally, the BJP alliance won 293 seats and the Congress-led India Alliance won 234 seats. Taking on the BJP cannot form a government with the help of Chandrababu Naidu’s Telugu Desam and Nitish Kumar’s United Janata Dal. These two parties have 33 constituencies of 17+16. Deducting this, the BJP alliance will get only 260 seats. 272 seats are required to get majority.
So now the BJP is embracing Chandrababu Naidu’s Telugu Desam and Nitish Kumar’s United Janata Dal. Today, a meeting of NDA alliance leaders and MPs was held in Delhi. In this meeting, Narendra Modi was unanimously elected as the Speaker of the Lok Sabha. Similarly, Modi has been chosen as the leader of the BJP-NDA alliance.
He therefore met the President and claimed the right to form the government. Earlier, Advani personally met and congratulated senior leaders of BJP, Murali Manohar Joshi. It is considered a very important incident.
Earlier, when Modi won the last 2 elections and came to power, Advani and Murali Manohar Joshi were not seen as big. For the first time in 2014, when the BJP won and Modi became the Prime Minister, there was talk that Advani and Joshi would be given a place in the cabinet. But both were sidelined.
Matters including ignoring Advani on public platforms had stirred up huge debates. So the BJP stopped inviting Advani and Joshi to BJP events and events attended by political leaders.
In this situation, Modi met Advani and Joshi in person and congratulated them in person when the BJP has won with a small number of votes and has come forward to form the government without a majority. The BJP is talking about Modi having met senior leaders to re-establish himself in the party as he did not get a majority.
