Even though the BJP did not get a majority in the just-concluded Lok Sabha elections, Narendra Modi will be sworn in as Prime Minister for a third term on Sunday (June 9) with the help of allies.
Like last year 2019, Lok Sabha elections have been held across the country in 7 phases this year. The first phase will be on April 19 in 22 states, the second phase will be on April 26 for 88 constituencies, the third phase will be on May 7 for 94 constituencies, the fourth phase will be on May 13 for 96 constituencies, the fifth phase will be on May 20 for 49 constituencies, and the sixth phase will be on May 25 in 58 constituencies. The 7th and final phase of elections for 57 constituencies in 7 states was completed on June 1.
In this case, the election results were announced the day before yesterday. Will Narendra Modi sit in the Prime Minister’s chair again this time? Or will the India alliance give a strong contest and take over the government? Expectations intensified. From the beginning, there was fierce competition between the BJP-led NDA alliance and the Congress-led India Alliance.
In the end BJP won 240 seats alone and 293 seats with alliance. Narendra Modi will be sworn in as Prime Minister for the third time as the BJP has won more than the required 272 seats to form the government. According to reports, he will take office on the 9th at 6 pm.
Now it is being said that only Modi will be sworn in and then ministers will be sworn in. The inauguration work is going on at a fast pace at the President’s House.
In India’s history, Nehru was the first Prime Minister of independent India from 1947 to 1952. He was declared Prime Minister by the Congress Party. Following this, Nehru won the Lok Sabha elections in 1952 and served as Prime Minister for the second time until 1957. During this period he implemented economic and social reforms.
Following this, Nehru won the Lok Sabha elections in 1957. During the next 5 years he continued to focus on economic development and foreign policy. Then Nehru won the general election in 1962. However, his health began to decline. Finally, Nehru died on May 27, 1964. He continued as Prime Minister until his death.
Even Indira Gandhi was Prime Minister 3 times. But never as persistent as Nehru. Following the death of Lal Bahadur Shastri in 1966, Indira Gandhi was elected Prime Minister after winning the Lok Sabha elections in 1967. In this election, Congress won hugely across the country.
After that, he won the election in 1971. At this time he was facing a severe crisis. In 1971 India-Pakistan war took place. Then Bangladesh was formed. Thus in 1975 he brought the Emergency.
He finally won the election in 1980 and became the prime minister again. During this period he was facing various problems like Khalistan problem and Sri Lanka problem. He was finally assassinated by his own bodyguards on 31 October 1984.
As a continuation of this history, it is noteworthy that now Narendra Modi is going to take office again as the Prime Minister.
