Chennai High Court has given permission to hold Formula 4 car race in Chennai.
Tamil Nadu Sports Development Authority and a private organization have decided to hold the Formula 4 car race in Chennai. The car race, which was scheduled to take place in December last year, was postponed due to Cyclone Mikjam. It has been announced that the Formula 4 car race will be held for a distance of 3.5 kilometers around the Chennai archipelago on 31st and 1st September. Preparations for the race are in full swing. Installation of electric lights, seats for 8,000 people to enjoy the race, security fences are being constructed. In this context, a petition was filed in the ICourt against holding the Formula 4 car race in Chennai. Tamil Nadu BJP Spokesman PNS Prasad had filed this petition. The case came up for hearing today.
At the end of the investigation, ‘Chennai High Court has given permission to hold Formula 4 car race in Chennai. And car racing cannot be banned. The International Federation of Motor Vehicles (FIA) must obtain a license to conduct the race. The High Court said that the Tamil Nadu government should take steps to conduct the car race in such a way that no public is harmed.
