This also applies to minority schools. It is in this situation that minority school students should be exempted from writing the Tamil language exam. Instead, a case was filed in the Supreme Court to allow them to write the exam in their mother tongue.
The case was heard by the Supreme Court. It also gave a one-year exemption from making Tamil a compulsory subject. Based on that, the minority students who wrote the 10th class exam last year were exempted from writing the Tamil exam.
But today the examination department has issued an order. In it, it has been said that the minority language students should also write the Tamil exam compulsorily. It has also issued an order to headmasters to check 13 types of details of students of class 10, 11 and 12 public examination.
