A video has surfaced showing a driver mixing water into milk cans sent to Madurai Aavin, causing a stir over ongoing fraud in Aavin. The Madurai District Cooperative Milk Producers Union procures about 1.20 lakh liters of milk daily. Through the Madurai Sattamangalam Aavin, 1.93 lakh liters of milk packets are sold daily to the public in Madurai city and its suburbs through Aavin milk depots.
In Madurai district, a video has emerged where an Aavin expansion officer caught a driver red-handed mixing water into milk cans being transported from the Koppambatti milk production center to the Aavin milk farm.
The Aavin expansion officer who recorded this event released the video as evidence of malpractices happening at the Aavin milk farm. The video shows several fraudulent activities, such as running Aavin vehicles for longer distances than necessary, stealing milk packets meant for distribution to agents, stealing milk cans, and failing to return damaged milk packets.
Additionally, the video shows diesel being stolen from Aavin milk farm lorries and details of how water is mixed into milk. The officer has claimed that due to bringing such malpractices to light, action was taken against him, including the suspension of his salary. He also alleged that despite raising these complaints multiple times with higher officials, no appropriate action was taken, and instead, actions were taken against him, sparking further controversy.
