Devotees have been allowed to climb the Chathuragiri hill and have darshan of Sami for 4 days from tomorrow.
Virudhunagar, Virudhunagar District, located in the Western Ghats near Vathirairipu, Chathuragiri Sundara, Chandana Mahalingam temple is allowed to visit the devotees every month on the new moon and full moon days.
Special pujas are held in this month Pradosha and Poornami in the temple. The forest department and the district administration have given permission for the devotees to climb the Chathuragiri hill for 4 days from tomorrow (Saturday) to the 20th in order to participate in these special pujas and have darshan. It is expected that thousands of devotees from various districts of Tamil Nadu and other states will come to participate in Pradosha and Pournami worship.
Also, if there is unexpected heavy rain on the days when trekking is allowed, the devotees will be prohibited from going up the mountain to have darshan of Sami for safety reasons. Devotees are not allowed to stay overnight. The forest department has also imposed various restrictions including not to carry prohibited items.
